STATEMENT OF POLICY:

The consortium will accept rotation placements in the following order of preference:

  1. Residents.
  2. University Systems of WV health science students.
  3. Other in-state college and university health science students.
  4. Local resident who is a health science student at an out-of-state college or university.
  5. Out-of-state health science student at an out-of-state college or university.

In the event there are two individuals in the same category requesting the same rotation, the following considerations will be used to determine priority in the order they are presented:

  1. Preceptor Preferences - when two or more individuals request the same assignment, the preceptor shall determine which individual will be assigned the rotation.
  2. Local resident or returning student - if the student is originally from the area, has family in the area, has done a pre-clinical rotation, a 3rd year rotation, or the student has shown interest in relocating to that specific area upon completion of training, the rotation request will be given priority.
  3. Length of rotation - in general, longer rotation requests will be given priority.
