Members Present: Rose Albert, Sharon Giles, Jodie Jackson (Chair), Dalena Riggs, Ken Shannon
Jodie Jackson announced that a draft of the 2007 R & R report will be emailed to site coordinators tomorrow for them to review and let Rose and Jodie know if there is anybody missing or anyone who needs to come off. The deadline date for this feedback was discussed. Since some site coordinators are involved in the CARDIAC project for the rest of this week, the decision was made to make the deadline Tuesday, November 20.
Ken Shannon reported on the two oral presentations and one poster presentation given at the Family Medicine conference in Pittsburgh, PA in October, 2007 by him and April Vestal on the Tracking of Medical Students and their Attitudes and Career Intents. The presentations were well received and Dr. Shannon has received some requests for our student on-line questionnaires as a result. Dr. Shannon will be displaying the poster during the Advisory Panel meeting this afternoon.
Rose Albert asked Dalena Riggs to ask the site coordinators to let her know if they have any suggestions for changes to the verification process for next year. Rose already has several ideas for improvement.
Jodie told the group that the tables for the Annual Report were finished (other than the R & R table). Rose and Jodie will next start on the annual AHEC tables. If the WV AHEC makes the decision to move from Basic funding to model funding, a competing application will have to be submitted as well in January. Jodie asked Sharon Giles to get the deadlines for the AHEC competing application, progress reports and CPMS tables.
Jodie reported that the survey of WV physicians, comparing the responses of urban vs rural and RHEP vs non-RHEP physicians in areas such as patient demographics, community involvement, primary care interest, usefulness of their RHEP experience, etc has gone to the WVU Institutional Review Board (IRB) for approval. The survey will be mailed in early December or early January.
Sharon Giles moved to accept the September, 2007, Evaluation Committee minutes. This was seconded by Dalena Riggs. All were in favor.
