RHEP Site Coordinator Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Anna Reno.  For check-in attendees gave their assessment of the RHEP/AHEC Planning meeting that was held in November.  The minutes from October as well as November meetings were approved. 

 

Those attending in addition to Reno were RHEP staff Elizabeth Richmond, Carla Campbell, Lora Adkins, Penny Rose, Kathryn Greenlief, Chuck Conner, Crystal Welch, Sonnie Strader, Georgianna Tillis, Violet Pastorial (CARDIAC staff); and AHEC personnel, Lew Holloway, Parr Thacker, Vanessa Linger, Haylee Heinsberg and Sharon Giles as well as ORH staff Derrick Day.

 

For the next portion of the meeting Chuck Conner and Parr Thacker facilitated the discussion concerning the RHEP/AHEC Strategic Planning meeting.   After much discussion, it was decided that Parr and Elizabeth would draft a position statement from the RHEP/AHEC staff on meeting the challenges of the program(s) as we move forward into the future.  The statement will be emailed out for approval before it is mailed to the appropriate people and/or committees.

 

A buffet luncheon was enjoyed by everyone.  Elizabeth then discussed the SC Seminar coming up in the spring.  She said that she had "drafted" a committee to include Georgianna, Carla, Penny and Lew.  Dates were discussed and ideas were suggested for planning purposes.  It was decided that April 5-7 was the first choice for seminar dates.  Elizabeth and her committee will see what locations are available and report back in January with preliminary plans. 

 

At 1:10 pm a call was placed to Jodie Jackson to discuss the R/R Report currently being compiled in Morgantown.  Jodie informed the group that she would be emailing the "final report" to SC for their review.  She asked that everyone try to review their area and respond to her ASAP on any omissions or changes that need to be made.

 

Next the Legislative committees broke out into work groups and then made brief reports on their planning.  Final reports will be made in January.

 

Kathryn asked if there were dates that the meeting room at Braxton LRC needed to be reserved for the SC meeting.  It was decided that she should go ahead and "reserve" the meeting room for months when the Advisory Board will NOT be meeting.

 

Next Steps

 

  1. Site Coordinators to report to April on the 3 X 3 visits every Friday.  Please report visits as they occur to both Hilda & April.

 

  1. Lora will contact Jodie about how to report IDE sessions on the Tracker System.

 

  1. April will work with Mike and Derrick to set up "IT" meetings with Site Coordinators.

 

  1. Parr will ask April about the possibility of making a formal presentation on the floor or to committees on Legislative Day.

 

  1. Send Retreat Committee topics & speakers for Annual Seminar scheduled for April 5 - 7.  Retreat Committee Members are:  Elizabeth, Penny, Carla, Georgianna, Lew, & Lora.

 

  1. Send ideas, suggestions to Derrick concerning any website changes or designs by
  2. January 1, 2006.

 

  1. Chuck, Elizabeth & Parr to send Position Paper from this meeting to the Strategic Planning Committee.

 

Appreciations were shared and the meeting was adjourned at 2 PM.  Next meeting will be held at WVU on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.
