Recruitment & Retention Committee
The Recruitment and Retention committee coordinates state, campus and community efforts to recruit and retain primary care providers in rural underserved areas. The committee identifies problems and gaps and coordinates policies, activities and program development. The committee plays a key role in state-funded incentive programs-one administered by the HEPC and the other by the Division of Rural Health and Recruitment in the Bureau for Public Health. In 1998, the Legislature codified and the committee as the official coordinating body for recruitment and retention efforts statewide.
